New Kia cars come with one of the best warranties on the market – a full 7 years. This is made possible by the high-quality manufacturing methods used both in Europe and globally. We trust the quality of our vehicles and can therefore offer this unique warranty in Europe. If something unexpected happens, we will repair your car. Your vehicle retains its value better when it is serviced according to the maintenance schedule, and the warranty transfers to the next owner. You will always receive the exact warranty terms with your vehicle or from your dealer. The warranty applies to all new Kia vehicles purchased after 1 January 2010.
What does the Kia warranty cover?
- The manufacturer’s warranty for new Kia models is 150,000 km or 7 years
- For private use, the warranty is 3 years with unlimited mileage
- For commercial use, the mileage limit is 150,000 km
- The paint warranty is valid for 150,000 km or 5 years
- 12-year anti-perforation warranty with no mileage limit
- 3-year or 100,000 km warranty for factory-installed equipment (e.g. navigation system and audio equipment)
- 2-year warranty for Kia genuine spare parts with no mileage limit
- 7-year or 150,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery (EV/HEV/PHEV)
- 2-year warranty for the MHEV battery (48V) with no mileage limit
- 2-year warranty for the low-voltage battery (12V) with no mileage limit
What is the service interval for Kia vehicles?
Regular servicing is essential to maintain the validity of the warranty. The scheduled service intervals for Kia models are 12 months / 15,000 km, 24 months / 20,000 km or 24 months / 30,000 km. For the longest intervals (24 months / 20,000 km or 24 months / 30,000 km), an annual intermediate service is recommended in Finnish conditions, as well as a first service after the first 1,000–3,000 km.
In certain models with longer service intervals (24 months / 20,000 km or 24 months / 30,000 km), a mandatory annual inspection or engine oil and filter change must be performed every 12 months, 12 months / 10,000 km or 12 months / 15,000 km. The service timing is determined by mileage if the mileage limit is reached before the time limit.
The vehicle body is also inspected during scheduled maintenance. The body warranty requires monitoring of the rust protection and paint surface and repairing any damage. Body inspection and servicing according to the maintenance programme ensure that the warranties remain valid.
